ABOUT ARMAGH: Armagh is non-profit second-stage housing which offers a safe, supportive environment for abused women and their children. The non-profit registered charity has been operating as such for the past 18 years in a Mississauga residence built in 1922. We are the only second-stage housing exclusively for women with or without children, serving the entire Region of Peel. Women and their children who have left an abusive home and gone to an emergency crisis shelter, are eligible for residency in one of the eight self-sufficient, furnished apartments that Armagh has to offer for up to one year, less a day. Additional resident facilities include laundry, children's play area, exercise room and library. On-site qualified staff-assist each woman to establish goals and objectives aimed at personal development. They prepare for their future independence by addressing their legal and financial affairs, pursuing further education, job training or employment, finding qualified day care and arranging permanent housing and on-going counselling.
DONATIONS: We are attempting to raise $100,000 with this campaign. For every multiple of $28 that you donate, we're able to help one woman or one child spend one additional day at Armagh.
